Visiting Humboldt University Berlin, Physics

At the invitation of Professor Nobert Koch (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin), I (Ohta) visited Humboldt University Berlin and gave a lecture at the department colloquium (June 11, 2024). Dr. Antje Vollmer gave me a tour of the control room of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin. It was my first time seeing a synchrotron radiation facility, and I was very impressed. I was even more impressed when the postdocs and graduate students in the Koch lab (Dr. Tianshu Zhai, Ms. Laura Scholz, and Mr. Lennart Frohloff) introduced their research. The explanations were easy to understand and the level was very high! The research facilities were also excellent, and I was shocked by how many expensive PEEMs there were. Although I only stayed for two days, it was a very stimulating and meaningful visit. Thanks to Norbert!
